“My weight was always an issue for me at an early age. In 2010, I was at my highest weight, and I was disgusted with myself, I was experiencing shortness of breath, backaches, and exhaustion and I was only in my twenties! This was a wake-up call, and so my journey began… I knew this was a life style change and on my way to a healthier me. I started counting calories, reading foods labels, and even weighing my food to learn about appropriate food servings. The weight started coming off, but it wasn’t easy! I was down 120 lbs. but it was getting harder and I needed more support, I was 65 lbs. from my goal weight. I felt more comfortable with myself so I came across Beautiful Bodies Boot Camp and signed up for a free class. Boot camp is the best thing I’ve done for myself! If you want an easy workout……DON’T SIGN UP!!! This is HARD but you feel so amazing when it’s over!!! Besides having more confidence and endurance, sleeping better, and getting stronger, I’ve made some friends along the way. The trainers truly care about you and push you to do your best. I’m not going to lie and say that there haven’t been times that I didn’t want to go to camp, but I can honestly say after camp I feel so much better and I am so glad I came. I am happy that I did something healthy for myself that evening. I’m proud to admit that I’m addicted to Bootcamp!!
As of July 2013 I’m down 156 lbs. and my life is completely different now. I love myself, I’m more confident, and I put myself out there. No more hiding in the corner! Melissa even convinced me to sign up for Tough Mudder in October 2013!! Last year I would have never dreamed of doing that!!!

“I still can’t believe how much has changed in the past 2 years. Two years ago I was seriously overweight, eating crappy food and all I wanted was to be skinny. Now, I’m a healthy weight, I’ve grown to love exercising (though ask me that in the middle of a run or hurricane and I’m sure I’d disagree), and I actually understand what eating healthy is. My entire mind set has changed. I don’t want to be skinny. I want to be healthy. Now don’t get me wrong, I’d still like to drop a size if I can safely, but I can honestly say if this is where my body is healthiest, I’m perfectly fine with that. That’s huge for me. I’ve finally gotten comfortable and happy with where I am and who I am.
Between my first year at a gym and this past year with Beautiful Bodies Boot Camp, I’ve gotten stronger, leaner, and I’ve accomplished things I never even knew I wanted to do! I have lost 60lbs and 7 dress sizes since my journey began in August 2009.
I started my journey just to fit in my wedding for Oct. 31, 2009 and to get out of the category of being obese per my doctor and it has become a complete lifestyle change.
I had found a love for Zumba and I started taking that 5-6 times a week. I loved it so much I became a licensed instructor and as I was teaching; I was also going thru my transformation.
I wanted to find something else that gave me the rush that Zumba gave me and a friend of mine introduced me to Beautiful Bodies Bootcamp in August of 2010 and I have been going ever since. It was only a once a week thing, and now I am going 4 times a week.
Not only am I a client of Beautiful Bodies I became certified trainer for them as well.
Along this amazing journey I have completed 2 Tough Mudders, the Spartan Sprint, Super and Beast in 2013, which has earned me the Spartan Trifecta Medal.

Dec 2011 (when the BEFORE picture was taken), I was taking 5 different medications daily – 2 for cholesterol and 3 for high blood pressure. At work every time I had a meeting on the 2nd floor (about 15 steps) I got to a meeting and couldn’t even catch my breath… it was embarrassing.
Jan 17, 2012… The day everything changed! I went to a Weight Watchers meeting and started going to group fitness classes (Zumba, Kick Boxing, Spinning, weight lifting and “Bootcamp”). Of all the classes Bootcamp was my favorite class, but it was only offered once a week so I started searching for bootcamp around NJ…
March 2012. I found Beautiful Bodies Boot Camp! Since then I’ve been going 4 times a week. My total weight loss is 45 Lbs since I started my journey. Now I’m not really focused on losing weight but on building muscle mass and most importantly staying healthy.
Today I’m only taking 1 pill a day of 10 ml for my high blood pressure. I’m feeling more energy than ever before in my life. I have even completed 2 Tough Mudders… 2012 and 2013. Remarkable for someone who couldn’t go up 15 steps at work over a year ago.
