As an individual who likes to attend our amazing New Jersey boot camp, have you ever considered how you are treating your body after a workout, and how your actions are directly impacting your results?

Post Boot Camp

Well in this article, you are going to learn exactly what you need to do so that you are able to achieve and maintain the results you have worked so hard for!

Make Time To Cool Down

After you have finished the hardcore boot camp workout, it is best to make sure you give your body enough time to cool down, so the recovery process can start taking effect immediately.

After working out your muscles, and cardiovascular system, giving it enough time to rest is just as important as making sure the intensity of the workout is high enough to ensure you get the best long-term results.

A great cooldown routine you can do is a half-mile walk, or a simple yoga stretching routine that lasts four to five minutes.

Stretch Out Your Muscles

Don’t forget to stretch after your bootcamp workout as well. While you have already spent time stretching before the workout started, stretching after is even more important.

After working out, your muscles have started to build up with lactic acid, and by stretching them it gives them a better environment to recover more efficiently. You can make your stretching routine similar to the one did before the workout began. It should take you about 10-15 minutes.

Drink Plenty of Water

As you are doing your cool down and stretching routine, make sure that you have plenty of water on hand, so you are able to rehydrate yourself. Making sure your body has enough water is essential for a quick recovery before your next workout.

There is nothing more uncomfortable than working out while you are sore and feeling miserable!

Protein Shake + Healthy Meal

After about an hour from the end of your workout, it is essential that you get a protein shake into your system, and a clean meal with lean protein, whole grain carbs and a little bit of fruit.

This combination of food and protein is ideal to make sure your body gets the nutrients it needs to repair itself efficiently before the next workout!

A great protein drink/meal combination would be a whey-based protein shake, 6 oz of chicken, an apple and some whole grain brown rice!

Get Your Sleep

As the day comes to a close, do your body a favor and go to sleep when you are tired. There are multiple different processes that happen while you are asleep that help your body recover. By giving your body the necessary amount of sleep, it will not only help you recover faster, but also allow you to wake up the next day feeling energized ready to take on the world!
